Iranian director Rahman Seifi-Azad's feature 'Majan' has been set to open Iranian Film Festival Zurich in Switzerland.
Starring popular Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati, 'Majan' is scheduled for the opening screening on May 24, 2018.
Keramati will attend the opening ceremony to receive an Honorary Golden Cyrus Cylinder.
The official competition section of the Iranian Film Festival in Zurich will screen a lineup of 12 films.
In addition to 'Majan', 'Israfil' by Ida Panahandeh, 'Waiting for Kiarostami' by Hossein Khandan, 'Ali Aqa' by Kamran Heidari and 'When I Became a Butterfly' by Arash Zare will go on the festival's screen.
The lineup also includes 'Searing Summer' by Ebrahim Irajzad, 'Bridge of Sleep' by Oktay Baraheni, 'Anonymity' by Alireza Samadi, 'Asphyxia' by Fereydoun Jeyrani, 'Paris Tehran' by Kaveh Oveisi, 'Dogs & Fools' by Ali-Mohammad Qasemi and 'Kupal' by Kazem Mollaei.
The jury members of the Swiss event's feature films section is comprised of Carine Bernasconi, Nicole Alleman, Gregor Schenker and Liliane Hollinger.
The festival is dedicated to films on issues of family stories and love in Iran and around the globe.
In addition, the event will present outstanding films made between 2016 and 2018 by Iranian filmmakers and films about Iran made by filmmakers from other countries.
The Iranian Film Festival Zurich is slated for May 24-30, 2018, in Switzerland.
